April Newsletter: Applause for a Pause

In the Ellipsis…

A curated list of things to boost your mood and inspire creativity.

Applause for a pause.

The ellipsis is my favorite punctuation... And I probably overuse it.

I love the ellipsis because it indicates a pause with a promise that something new is about to happen. In so many ways, that’s really where I’ve been living. Can you relate?

With my next novel in progress, I’ve been looking for new ways to stay in touch on a regular basis. That’s why I’m trying out this new newsletter (or is it a Suzletter?) where I share some things that boosted my mood and inspired creativity this month.

Hope these recommendations brighten your day...

love, Suzanne

Wildflowers along my favorite hiking trail are evidence that good things always pop up after a long pause.

Comedy writer/foodie Phil Rosenthal travels the world to eat local. Phil seems to make friends everywhere he goes and is a great reminder of why the world is awesome.

All big things come from small beginnings. The seed of every habit is a single, tiny decision.
— James Clear, Atomic Habits

You know that thing where you’re like “I should drink more water,” and then you just don’t? Well, I read this book, and now I drink more water.

There are other habits I established after reading this book too, but one of my new habits is to stop talking about my habits so much.

Anyway, check out this book. It has some interesting insights about mindset.

The audiobook for Brunch and Other Obligations is now available everywhere audiobooks are sold!

I was thrilled to get a chance to have the fabulous Janina Edwards narrate. She is the real deal and adds beautiful new layers to characters I've known for so long.
